Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall Could return in Week 10
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 4:14 PM
Coach Kyle Shanahan noted Monday that Pearsall (knee) has a chance to play Sunday against the Rams but will be evaluated mid-week, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: Pearsall hasn't seen game action since Week 4, but the wideout appears to be inching closer to a return. Added context on that front will arrive no later than Wednesday, when the 49ers post their first Week 10 injury report. With Brandon Aiyuk (knee) still not ready to have his practice window opened, the team's top healthy WRs currently are Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson.
Brandon Aiyuk
Brandon Aiyuk Not ready to practice
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 4:01 PM
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan said that Aiyuk (knee) won't have his 21-day practice window opened this week, David Lombardi of SFStandard.com reports.
Analysis: The 49ers are continuing to evaluate Aiyuk on a week-to-week basis as he moves through the rehab process for the right knee surgery he required after suffering ACL and MCL tears in an Oct. 20, 2024 game. While the 49ers are seemingly still hopeful that Aiyuk will contribute at some point this season, a more definitive target date for his 2025 debut won't become clear until he starts practicing.
Jordan Watkins
Jordan Watkins Another one-catch outing Sunday
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 1:19 PM
Watkins hauled in his only target for 19 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Watkins nabbed another reception in his second appearance of the season after injuries delayed the start of his professional career. The fourth-round rookie logged just eight snaps on offense (12 percent), a role too small for anyone to generate reliable fantasy value in. Head coach Kyle Shanahan historically has not trusted rookie receivers in larger roles, so Watkins' snap count should remained capped against the Rams next Sunday.
Skyy Moore
Skyy Moore Busy day returning kicks
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 1:07 PM
Moore had one reception for 21 yards while returning five combined kicks for 85 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Moore played a role in the field position game for the 49ers after running back five of his six return opportunities Sunday. The return specialist set a new personal high with a 21-yard reception in the win, but it was also just his third catch (on five targets) in eight appearances this season. Moore's minimal involvement on offense keeps him out of the fantasy picture in standard formats for next Sunday's tilt versus the Rams.
Demarcus Robinson
Demarcus Robinson Continues to disappoint
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 12:55 PM
Robinson finished with no receptions (on one target) in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Robinson was on the field for 33 percent of the offense's snaps Sunday, finishing third behind starters Jauan Jennings (79 percent) and Kendrick Bourne (73 percent). The 30-year-old Robinson failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to fill in as the 49ers' slot receiver in a cushy matchup. Instead, he was held without a catch for the second time in the last three weeks. With just eight receptions in six active games, it's safe to say that Robinson has been a poor fit in San Francisco. The 49ers will host Robinson's former club, the Rams, on Sunday, but the veteran's lack of involvement dampens any excitement over a potential "revenge game" Week 10.
Brian Robinson
Brian Robinson Best game with San Francisco
Mon, Nov 3, 2025, 12:31 PM
Robinson took five carries for 53 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants. He also returned a kickoff for 41 yards.
Analysis: Robinson turned in his best performance as a member of the 49ers on Sunday, setting a new season high in rushing yards while punching in his first touchdown of 2025. The 26-year-old backup was still limited to single-digit touches (five) and snaps on offense (nine), so managers shouldn't overreact to what might end up being his best fantasy score this year. Expect Robinson to receive a handful of carries behind every-down starter Christian McCaffrey in a pivotal NFC West matchup against the Rams next Sunday.
Kendrick Bourne
Kendrick Bourne Held to two catches in Week 9
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 5:43 PM
Bourne caught both of his targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Bourne's two targets tied for fourth on the team as Mac Jones didn't target any player more than six times. After back-to-back 142-yard receiving performances in Weeks 5 and 6, Bourne has just seven catches for 92 yards across three subsequent games. Even if San Francisco doesn't get any healthier at wide receiver in Week 10 against the Rams, Bourne may not see a significant target share.
Jauan Jennings
Jauan Jennings Scores TD in Week 9 win
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 5:32 PM
Jennings caught four of five targets for 41 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Jennings continues to gut it out while playing through multiple injuries, but he has reportedly started to feel healthier in recent weeks, which is supported by an uptick in production. He has notched four receptions in three consecutive games after reaching that threshold only once through Week 6. Jennings scored his second touchdown of the season on an 11-yard catch in the second quarter. It remains to be seen if he'll be catching passes from Mac Jones again in Week 10 against the Rams or if Brock Purdy (toe) will be back under center.
George Kittle
George Kittle Four catches in Week 9 win
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 5:30 PM
Kittle caught all four of his targets for 32 yards in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: Kittle focused primarily on blocking as the 49ers fed Christian McCaffrey 33 touches, which the star running back turned into 173 scrimmage yards and two touchdowns. In three games since returning from a hamstring injury suffered in Week 1, Kittle has produced just 75 yards and a touchdown. The possible return of Brock Purdy (toe) against the Rams in Week 10 may get Kittle going.
Mac Jones
Mac Jones Accurate start in Week 9 win
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 3:42 PM
Jones completed 19 of 24 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants. He added four rushing attempts for four yards and lost a fumble.
Analysis: Jones connected on all 14 of his first-half pass attempts for 143 yards, including touchdown passes of five yards to Christian McCaffrey and 11 yards to Jauan Jennings, but the quarterback lost a fumble in the final minute before halftime for the lone blemish of an otherwise spotless half. His first pass of the second half landed incomplete as Jones' accuracy diminished significantly, but the 49ers maintained a double-digit lead the entire second half to improve to 6-3, including 5-2 in games started by Jones. Brock Purdy (toe) has been inching closer to returning, so Jones' run as the starter could come to a close in Week 10 against the Rams.
Christian McCaffrey
Christian McCaffrey Racks up 173 totals yards, two TDs
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 3:39 PM
McCaffrey rushed 28 times for 106 yards and a touchdown while catching five of six targets for 67 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Giants.
Analysis: McCaffrey got wide open for a five-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter and powered in a three-yard touchdown run in the fourth. The star running back has produced multi-touchdown performances in two of his last three games, sandwiched around McCaffrey's worst outing of the season (68 scrimmage yards against Houston in Week 8). He has at least 107 scrimmage yards in all but one appearance this season. Backup Brian Robinson rushed for 53 yards on his five carries, including an 18-yard touchdown in the third quarter, but McCaffrey continues to operate in a workhorse role, averaging 25.4 touches per game heading into a Week 10 home game against the Rams.
Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy Inactive again in Week 9
Sun, Nov 2, 2025, 10:40 AM
Purdy (toe) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Giants, Briana Jeannel of the 49ers' official site reports.
Analysis: The 49ers have optimism that Purdy will be able to return to action for a Week 10 matchup with the Rams, but the signal-caller's lingering turf toe injury will keep him from starting for the seventh time in eight weeks. Mac Jones will once again direct the San Francisco offense while Adrian Martinez serves as the 49ers' No. 2 quarterback. Notably, the 49ers aren't listing Purdy as their emergency No. 3 quarterback, so he won't be available even if Jones and/or Martinez are forced out of Sunday's contest due to injury.
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall Ruled out again
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 3:34 PM
Pearsall (knee) won't play Sunday against the Giants, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: He's ruled out for a fifth straight game and still hasn't returned to practice, but reports this week at least pointed to progress with Pearsall's side work. His lack of participation in actual practices nonetheless hints at significant risk of missing time beyond Week 9.
Mac Jones
Mac Jones Getting another start
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 3:31 PM
Jones will start Sunday's game at the Giants, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Brock Purdy (toe) is listed as questionable, but he'll only be the backup if he's declared active, per 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan. Active or not, Purdy seems to be making progress and could return to the starting job as soon as Week 10 against the Rams.
Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy Won't start, deemed questionable
Fri, Oct 31, 2025, 3:29 PM
Purdy (toe) won't start Sunday's game against the Giants but is listed as questionable to be available in a backup capacity, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.
Analysis: Long story short, Mac Jones will make another start, with Purdy then aiming for a Week 10 return to the lineup. Purdy's status this Sunday won't impact fantasy decisions, but it'll at least be a good sign for Week 10 if he's considered healthy enough for the backup role at New York.
Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy Limited again Thursday
Thu, Oct 30, 2025, 5:13 PM
Purdy (toe) was limited at Thursday's practice, Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis: Purdy has strung together eight consecutive limited listings on 49ers injury reports as he seeks his first game action since Week 4 due to a turf toe injury. On Monday, coach Kyle Shanahan told Wagoner that he didn't think it was a "long shot" for Purdy to play Week 9, but the fourth-year signal-caller now has just one more chance to get back to full Friday before San Francisco potentially makes a ruling on his status ahead of Sunday's game at the Giants. If Purdy is sidelined again this weekend, Mac Jones would make his seventh start of the season.
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall Doesn't practice Thursday
Thu, Oct 30, 2025, 4:00 PM
Pearsall (knee) didn't take part in Thursday's practice, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Analysis: On a positive note, though, Pearsall ran quick routes and made cuts on a side field, seemingly testing the current state of his right knee and its lingering PCL injury. The 49ers may make a ruling on the second-year pro's availability for Sunday's game at the Giants as soon as Friday, but the 49ers' receiving corps again might be led by Jauan Jennings, Kendrick Bourne and Demarcus Robinson in Week 9.
Mac Jones
Mac Jones Full practice Wednesday
Wed, Oct 29, 2025, 6:09 PM
Jones (knee/knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday that Jones sustained a knee contusion this past Sunday at Houston, per David Lombardi of SFStandard.com. Jones then was listed with both knees to begin Week 9 prep, but neither issue impacted his practice reps Wednesday. Meanwhile, No. 1 QB Brock Purdy remained limited due to his lingering turf toe injury, which came on the heels of Shanahan telling Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com on Monday that he didn't "think it's a long shot" for Purdy to play Sunday at the Giants. Purdy likely will need to log a full practice Thursday or Friday in order to be cleared for game action, so the 49ers' next two injury reports will be of keen interest to get a sense of who between Purdy and Jones will be under center this weekend.
Brock Purdy
Brock Purdy Remains limited in practice
Wed, Oct 29, 2025, 6:03 PM
Purdy (toe) officially was limited at Wednesday's practice, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Analysis: Coach Kyle Shanahan told Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com earlier Wednesday that Purdy was slated to be limited in Wednesday's session, which came to pass. Meanwhile, fill-in QB Mac Jones, who emerged from Week 8 action with a bruised knee, practiced fully to begin Week 9 prep. This follows comments from Shanahan on Monday in which he didn't believe it was a "long shot" for Purdy to play Sunday at the Giants, but the 49ers would "see how he's doing Wednesday," according to Wagoner. Considering Purdy hasn't upgraded to all activity yet in practice, he again may be running behind Jones to start this weekend, but ultimately the former's listing Thursday and Friday will be watched to see if the tide turns in his favor.
Ricky Pearsall
Ricky Pearsall Not practicing yet
Wed, Oct 29, 2025, 3:31 PM
Pearsall (knee) isn't practicing Wednesday, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reports.
Analysis: He hasn't practiced or played since Week 4, and the 49ers haven't provided much information beyond listing him as such on the final injury report. They did elect not to place Pearsall on injured reserve, hinting at a week-to-week outlook even though he's now been out for more than a month. In any case, the continued absences from practice don't bode well for a Week 9 appearance this Sunday at the Giants.
